Hello,

Dear Sir,
please explain the details of expansion joint ,i.e,length of the building is approx 70m ,location hyd ,patancheru.newly constructed building given cracks at both ends only in brick wall,please give some suggestion.

Hi Kishore,

It is difficult to advise properly without more details, but I suspect that these are temperature movement cracks due to the roof slab expanding and the wall below being cooler, not expanding at the same rate. I suggest that if the slab is structurally stable, you just create some 20mm x 20mm slots along the cracks and fill them with a flexible sealant, which can be painted over so that the movemnet can be accommmodated without creating ugly cracks.
