Question
I have made cement floor tiles with steel slag by replacing various percentage of OPC.  After water curing of 28 days, its Cold Compressive strength (CCS)were checked and found satisfactory for residential use.
Again concrete blocks were made with same percentage of steel slag and OPC with coarse aggregate.Water cured for 28 days and CCS were measured. Results were satisfactory.

Now please tell me is it enough to establish the use of steel slag with OPC or what minimum test should be conducted? I have less facility for other tests.

Answer
Hi Satya,

I would say that for use as floor tiles and blocks, your CCS tests would be sufficient- perhaps you should do some permeability too tests to ensure durability.

I would also suggest you consult the loacl authority as they may have specific requirements that I am not aware of.
