Question
Dear sir,
You said about the sway of mosque minaret that i can relax the criteria..but how much..im getting 235mm maximum sway at worst service combination. How far could i go.? H/100, H/200..Please guide!

Answer
Hi Waseem,

That should be fine (235mm over 60m)- you could even accept a higher sway so long as your finishes, internal partitions and services can accommodate the sway without dislodging or suffering damage.

This is on the assumption that there is no human habitation near the top. Of course when wind conditions are not severe, humans could go up there for a view or for the call to prayer.
