Question
Dear Babak,

What is the allowable rate of pile top movement so that load can be increased in static load test?

Regards,

Ananda.

Answer
Dear Ananda

hi, you will have to deal with an axial (tension) loading. You have to be careful when watching your test process , my idea is to reach to your loading test, if your test process shows that you will never each to your target loading , your test is failed. But if you are getting close and pass your testing load even in large deformations in my opinion it is ok because after all you will have your piles being loaded in compression essentially. For a general criteria consider 0.0005 Lp  (Lp length of pile) .

Please give me a feed back of your work.
