Question
What is the purpose of applying diaphragms to slabs ??

Answer
Dear mahmoud

Diaphragm is an ideal rigid model which is adopted to model the slabs. When considering diaphragms some degrees of freedom get constrained together, like you can accept that the x drift of all joints in a level being equal ( when no torsion exists)  Then if you model the slabs themselves, no need to consider the diaphragms.
