Civil Engineering/safe 8 software

Hope u r fine.
What is a wall support in safe program and where it should be applied. Thanks in advance.

ANSWER: Hi Mohammad,

Wall support is where you have RC shear walls or lift core walls that support the slab. If you export a floor from ETABS, then there is a facility to export the wall supports too.

Thank you for your previous answer.
If there is raft foundation and it is supported on Retaining wall on all its four side so can retaining wall be taken as wall support and whether we still have to check that pressure be less than the B.C of soil.

Hi Mohammad,

No, in this case, the raft is not supported by the retaining wall- it is the opposite, as the retaining wall is supported by the raft, but the wall will provide additional stiffness to the raft in the vertical plane. The soild bearing pressure needs to still be checked against the bearing capacity.
