dear sir,
thanks for your answer.. now i'm really relieved..
sir usually displacements increases from hard soil to soft soil.
but my results are decreasing that is hard soil is having large displacement. i tried in STAAD Pro. with exact same inputs i'm getting correct result i.e soft soil with higher displacement.
In ETABS i couldnt find the fault... is there any way to find ?

Dear Manju

As I stated before you can assign springs with defined stiffness to foundation nodes. But you must remove support restraints first. Don't have doubt when reducing spring stiffness the displacements increase.
