# Civil Engineering/Moment dristribution in 3-wall joint of 2-cell box culvert

Question

Could you please suggest a method to distribute moments in the top and bottom joints of the center wall of a 2-cell box culvert together with carry over mechanism to balance the moments?

And following this, how to determine the maximum moment in the middle of the different walls?

Hi Robert,

This is difficult to explain over this forum, but if you have an analysis software you can model a unit linear length of the cross section and obtain the forces, or do it manually assuming points of contraflexure at mid-heights of the walls (approx analysis.

The first part of my question about balancing moments in the joints where 3 walls meet was not replied.
