Civil Engineering/RCC stepped strip foundations

salam sir
hope u will be fine. my question is that i have to construct a strip footing. the area at which this footing is to construct2ed having level diffrences up to 4ft or 6ft in a grid line.if i fix reinforcement at straigth line the we have bed pcc at some spots on grid line equal to the depth of 6ft or 4ft. to avoid this confusion kindly guide me to fix my reinforcement inclined or any other method. as the we cant keep the foundation excavation level due to hard rock at these levels. regards

Hi Zain,

You should keep the strip footing horizontal in short sections then drop it down everytime the level drops say 2X depth of strip footing and connect these steps with vertical RC wall, similar size to strip footing- so you end up like a staircase. The vertical sections should also be reinforced.
