Question
dear sir,
will there be any difference in the calculation of foundation depth when the foundation is on rock of soil?

thanking you?

Answer
Dear Niranjan

The depth of foundation is geverned by shear produced in a zone near the columns which is in turn function of the column loading,  then it is not affected meaniningfully and from engineering point of view by soil strength.
