Question
Dear Sir,
Would you please explain what is Response Spectrum.
and why we should do this analysis.

Answer
Dear Mohammad

When you want to analyse the response of a structure under earthquake effect you can choose a particular accelerogram to do time history analysis or do modal - spectral analysis using an spectrum which is a average of structural response under several earthquake effect. Spectrum play such a role. To understand a spectrum analysis you should study it through textbooks like Clough and Penzien.
