Question
is increment in column steel done in upper floors? if yes, why? what factors decide increasing steel in upper levels as compared to levels below.

Answer
Dear Sushil

When the size of columns is reducing in upper flours then it is probable that the need for reinforcement increases. In some instances the earthquake effect may cause need of greater strength in upper flour. The torsin effect may cause such a problem in some instances. Structural analyses can reveal these to you.
