Civil Engineering/ETABS

Question
Hello,
i´m a new user of the program etabs. My question:
Is it possible to make the shear design based on provided longitudinal reinforcement? (That is the shear design is based on the moment capacity) Can I instruct ETABS to do this? I havn´t found a command for this option.
Another question: The default settings in the M3 frame nonlinear hinge properties show displacement values (Rotation). Are these values out of ATC-40 table 9.6? Does ETABS consider the expressions V/(b*d*sqrtfc) for example?

Thank´s for helping!

Answer
Hi Bjorn,

I am new to ETABS as well, but I believe it does take main rebar into account for shear design. I sugget you visit the CSI website where there is a good FAQ and also you can post technical queries.

I hope that helps!

Kind regards,
