Question
I have to design Extension work of Bungalow on First floor. But on first their is only 0.3m laps of 12mm bar for each column. In each column their is only four number of bars. But I will planning for grouting or proper welding of bar.Which is suitable procedure for the same?

Answer
Hello Santosh,

You can use either way, but grouting is most common and probably more economical. Check the structural strength of the columns and beams also for extension work.

If you have any more question don't hesitate to ask.
