Question
what foundation would be most suitable for a factory which is to be erected on the site of a limestone filled reservoir. the depth is 6m to sandstone bed rock. Thanks

Hi Tom,

This is difficult to answer as it all depends on how well the limestone has been compacted, how long it has had time to settle, what the depth of fill is, etc. All things being equal, if the fill is well compacted, you should be able to use pad foundations for the columns and strip footings for the walls.
