Civil Engineering/H-Beam cantilever

Question
When I had my manufactured home installed I had the beams upgraded to a 10" H-Beam so that I did not have to have jack posts in the basement.  These 10" H-Beams are actually 38 feet long and the house only 28 feet wide so there is a 10" cantilever.  This was done by design so that I would be able to build a deck on them and not have posts in front of my doors in the basement.  My question is a 10" H-Beam cantilevered 10 feet from its structure can support ? lbs?

Thank you

Answer
Hi Bob,

Unfortunately, I need more info about the section size before I can work out the load carrying capacity. I need to know the width of the flanges and the thickness of the the flanges and the web (the vertical part of the I-section).
I need the grade of steel as well, as this affects the load carrying capacity.

Also, you need to define how the load will be applied- as a uniformly distributed along the cantilever length, or as a point load at either the end, or along the length?

Kind regards,

Arshad.
