Question
Dear Sir,
We have got honey comb in the concrete of grade M40 used for column member(size of column- 800x800). The lift height is 2.1 mts .honey comb is to a depth of 25 mm(max) & is localised at bottom 300mm of column. Also would like to know if there is any limiting condition for the honey comb & what are the remedial measures.

Hi Suman,

Honeycombing to a depth of 25mm is  not very serious so you can simply grout this up and the column can be serviceable. You can do this bu applyng cement sand grout incorporating a bonding agent.
