Question
hello sir..
i hv a question regarding civil engineer's job..
when a building construction is completed, does the engineer's job end there..?
or is building maintenance afterward is also included in civil engineer's job list..?
if yes, then what type of building maintenance?
and if possible, can you explain briefly about each type of the maintenances..?
if not,can you give some links that could explain those things..?
thank you very much sir..

Answer
Dear Sir,

Engineers are diversified in their expertise. In other words, the Architect usually designs the building, the Structural Engineer makes sure that the building is safe, the Electrical and Mechanical Engineers take care of the services of the building, the Construction Engineer, at the most basic level, supervises the construction process, let alone the landscape/irrigation, and Interior designers; Each has a specific scope to do.

Maintenance mainly starts after the building is commissioned or handed over to the employer. Usually "Facility Management Companies", specialized in the maintenance of buildings, are employed to manage this scope of service. Such companies comprise Engineers, usually Electro-mechanical and IT, supervisors, and labors.

Hope the above is comprehensive enough, however, should you require specific details, please do not hesitate to contact me.
