why horizontal cracks in top floor building.
& how to repair I am try to chipping inside 2" and fill a mortar. but after few days seen a cracks.

My question is always seen in multistorey building after plaster cracks are developed in wall.horizontal cracks and vertical cracks why ?

Answer
Hi Santosh,

This is probably caused by:

1. Shrinkage cracks in blockwork
2. Lack of movement compatibility between the structural frame and non-structural in-fill blockwork- this puts stresses in blockwork due to the lateral displacement of the structural frame due to wind or seismic loading.
