Question
Mr Khan - Pl. give yr opinion for the following:
1st floor roof: 1) Room size: 11.5ft x 22ft -2 rooms
               2) Room size: 10 ft x 22 ft -3 rooms
                (room inside measurement)
               a. What is the thickness of slab to be paved  b. What is the suitable main rod and distribution rod -economical as well as good strength and also inform  c/c rod distanc for main and spacer rod. Rooms for living purpose. thanks.

Hi maganathan,

I do not do designs over this medium, so you should get a qualified engineer to do so for you. Roughly speaking, I would expect the slab to be between 175-200mm deep, with possibly T12-150 both ways, with bottom layer being in direction of smaller span. However, this depends on what the imposed loading is on the roof- if there is heavy snow or sand laoding, it could well be T16-150.
