Civil Engineering/tower cranes

Question
I would like to request more information to the answer you gave on 6/20/2005 regarding tower cranes. To dismantle a crane within a building sometimes a smaller crane is lifted up to help dismantle it and the pieces are lowered down the shaft. My question is how do you now bring down the mobile crane. Thank you!

Hi Neela,

What you would do is to dismantle the smaller crane into small enough componenest to enable transport down the external construction lift or lowered down the lift shaft using simple ropes and pulleys.
