Clarinet/High F Concert Major Scale

Question
What are the treble clef notes in succession for this scale?  Daughter is asking me and I don't have a clue.

Answer
Hello Brad...Thank you for your question...if your daughter is playing the F major scale on the clarinet, the notes to play are  F....G......A.....Bb.....C......D......E..... F....If her teacher wants her to play F CONCERT scale, the teacher may be playing an F scale on    the piano, but for the clarinet to sound the same notes on the clarinet as on the piano, the clarinet would  play  [for the F CONCERT SCALE], the following notes: G....A........B......C.....D.......E.........F#........G......This is not as confusing as it sounds...If a pianist looks at the sheet music and plays a C, what comes out of the piano is a C.  If a clarinetist looks at the same C and plays it, the actual note that comes out of the clarinet is a Bb 'concert'.    I hope this helps....cheers....jack
