The serial number 148xxx puts your Conn clarinet at being made about 1926.  Keeping it well maintained as you are doing will make it last a very long time.  This is a great gift of love, of music, for your son that he'll long remember, particularly as he continues to play and enjoy it!



It is very nice to hear stories like yours of close families and of the joy of music within them.
