Question
Purchased a 1963 ranchero. Bad shape. The whole tranny and motor shake when trying to engage in gear. Any ideas. Also how do you adjust the clutch. Do the adjustments under the dash and in the engine compartment go forward or back and can you adjust the nut attached to the clutch activator.

Answer
Paul, I need a whole lot more information to be of any help here. First, does the engine run smoothly when idling? Have you done anything to it since you bought it? Does the car move and drive? If so does it shake all the time that you are driving? Why do you want to adjust the clutch? Those two nuts are the only adjustment and one direction will raise the free play in the pedal and the other will lower the free play. If you think that adjusting the clutch will smooth it out, it won't.
