Classic/Antique Car Repair/Generator Polarizing

Question
I sent my generator out for repair and will be picking it up tomorrow. 12 volt Delco for a willys CJ3. Will it need to be "polarized" and what is the correct procedure?

Answer
With a jumper wire flash the "B" battery and "A" armiture terminals on the voltage regulator. This should do the trick if it needs polarizing. I would install the generator and start the engine observing the charge indicator or a volt meter across the battery. If it does not charge then polarize it.
