Classic/Antique Car Repair/Idle speed

Question
I have an 1987 f150 5.0 liter,it is idling high, around 900 rpm.How can this be adjusted on a truck with EFI? Is there a problem with the idle air bypass? Possibly a vacuum leak?

Answer
The major problems that we have seen with idle on these engines is usually dirt in the throttle plate areas. Use carburetor cleaner and clean the area where the throttle plates close. If the engine still idles higher than normal use spray carburetor cleaner and check all of the places that could cause a vacuum leak with the engine running. You will hear it when you find a leak. Now, did this problem just happen? Did you change anything in the engine recently?
