Question
We are trying to replace a started on a 1961 Chevy c10 truck. We can see only 2 bolts but we have been told there are three! We have looked for schematics on the engine and to no luck found one that can show us how to do it! Granted we are beginners but a person should be able to do these simple things! Thanks Maranda

Answer
There are two bolts at the bell housing. The third bolt is at the other end of the starter and it is a bracket that is bolted to the front of the starter and then to the engine block. Sometimes that bolt is not replaced if the starter has been changed.
