Classic/Antique Car Repair/1938 Pontiac

Question
My Pontiac stalls (quits with no warning) when I turn a corner left or right turns, takes a little while to restart and runs fine in a straight line.

Answer
I am a Model A guy, but I will try to help.
Sounds likt the float bowl may be the prob.  Low fuel level in it maybe.  It could be an intake manifold air leak.  Check that.  Also check the attachment of the carb to the manifold.  It may be warped and leaking air there.  I am not familiar with the fuel supply on that car, but look at it and see if the turn could cause a loss of fuel.  If it has a fuel pump, and I assume it does, is it sucking air during a turn?  It really sounds like a fuel prob.  Try keeping high revs during a turn. If it stays lit, that would indicate it is a leak in the inlet someplace.  If it dies, then it is fuel pump related, or at least in the supply area.

Hope this helps a little.
