Question
i have a 1976 Nova straight six motor, timming is gear driven with no timming marks, i know to bring number one piston up, and ignition rotor in number one place, car won't start just cranks, timming gear was worn out and broke, replaced cam gear but no marks, what am i doing wrong

Answer
Every timing gear, the one on the cam and the one on the crank, for Chevrolet that I have ever seen has a timing mark. The mark on the cam gear for your car is a dot as is the one on the crank gear. I would get the timing case off again and start from ground zero. Also make sure that the cam gear has not been installed with the mark on the inside. Let me kone.
