Classic/Antique Car Repair/Serial number on frame

Question
My 66 Ford Fairlane Gt was stolen and the door was probably replaced because it holds the S/N there. Can ypu please tell me the different locations where the original factory S/N are stamped on the frame in case I find it and can prove it's mine! Thanks, Sabas.

Answer
The FBI knows where all the numbers are placed.  There will be a number on the trans that identifies your car.  Look under the weatherstrip on the top of the yoke panel under the front part of the hood.  We, Chrysler, used to stamp them there.  If the police are involved, don't worry about identifying your car.  That will be the easy part.
