Question
hey I have a pick up Mentioned in subject that just wont start what may the problem be?
without the battery charger its deader than a nail but with it on the lights and everything else works but no start. and we tried push starting it but nothing happens.

Answer
Ok, a spark ignition engine needs electricity to run the ignition system. You will need to start at the battery and trace electricity with a voltmeter or a test light through the system. Probably you will need a new or at least a battery with a full charge. Your comments about the battery charger leads me to believe that the battery is really dead. In that case a battery charger unless it is a commercial charger with a boost setting will not produce enough energy to turn  engine over. Trying to push start with a completely dead battery, again you do not have enough power to energize the ignition system. Get a battery in the vehicle and let me know what happens.
