Question
My 1980 Camaro idles fine but stalls when i put it into gear

Answer
I think that the only thing that happens when you put it in gear is that you add a little load to the engine.  If the neutral idle is not too high, then increase it a little.  If that does not help, you might look for an intake air leak.  Tighten things down and spray a little wd 40 around the intake seams and anywhere the air might leak into the intake system.  If the idle changes, you found the leak.
