Question
how is a light switch for a 68 gto removed from the dash?

Answer
Behind the dash on the side of the switch there is a spring loaded button. Depress this button and pull the headlight switch knob out of the switch. Once the knob and shaft are out you can take a screw driver and remove the bezel that holds the switch into the dash. The switch will drop down and you can disconnect the wire.
