Question

front view
hi, i bought a 62 falcon 6cyl 3sp on the column as a daily driver a few months ago, replacing the usual things as they come up, but it's popping out of gear in 3rd now every once in a while.  is this just missing teeth?  also my wiper switch is stuck, can they be fixed - i can't find a new one for sale.  thanks, i know this is a long question, thanks for providing your expertise to the public like this, sincerely, ---william

Answer
Nice looking car. The transmission problem is probably internal, but not missing teeth. However first make sure that the linkage is tight and the transmission is shifting into gear properly. The wiper switch is another story. i have never been successful in repairing them. But there are parts available. My stock answer for where can I find….” Is to latch on to a copy of Hemmings Motor News, the old car hobbies classified bible. There are many companies that supply parts for old cars and you will find them in Hemmings. www.hemmings.com
