Question
There is a piece on the 1978 ford carborator, that the hose goes into, i think the transmission has a hose that goes into it as well, the piece is plastic and small, one guy said it was cheap ( a few $$$ or so ) but i dont know were to get one, do you ??? i have disconnected them, and spray starter fluid in the carb to get it started...i also wanted to know if this is bad for the transmission...thank you. teyo

Answer
Teyo, I don't know anything about your car, but I don't think there is a hose that goes from the carb to the trans.  The hose from the carb Might go into the valve cover, but this would be a big hose.  It is to recirculate crank case fumes back into the carb.  Your carb might use vacuum for some reason, and that one would go to a "Vacuum tree" on the intake manifold.  Go talk to a ford dealer and ask him where you could get the part.  A parts store might be able to help you.  If none of that works, look for a ford car club on the net and ask them.
Sorry I can't be of much help to you.
good luck,
jack
