QUESTION: Its a Universal alternator with only one place to attach a wire. The old generator had one large yellow with black strip wire and one small yellow wire and one small black with a red stripe on it.
I think all of these goes to the voltage regulator. The alternator box says it is a self Exciting regulator with a description of one wire alternator. Vendor is SKU A7127SE Does this help any?  Thanks

Answer
Ok, you need only run one wire from the alternator to the POS battery post or to the battery side of the solenoid. The three wires you can clip them or tape them off. You can remove the voltage regulator and either clip or tape off these  wires. One of the wires that you remove from the voltage regulator will be live connected to the starter solenoid. So be careful and do not let that one touch ground. The wire from the alternator to the battery or solenoid should be a 10 gage.
