Question
Windshield wipers are not in time with one another. Have new wiper motor, wiper on drivers side, blade only goes up about half way and passenger side blade works like it should. I took pulleys off & checked them, they are all free, no hang ups. Is there something in the mount outside of windshield that blade attaches to that needs adjusting etc. All wiper hardware & pulleys etc were a basket case. Thought elec. motor instead of vacuum would help but it doesn't. Hope you can give me a starting point. TKS

Answer
This condition usually indicates that the springs that hold tension on the cables is weak and instead of all of the motion of the motor being applied to the blades the pulleys are being pulled in against the weak springs. it could also be as simple as wiper shafts binding because of lack of lubrication. I would lubricate the shafts first and see what happens, then think about replacing the wiper transmissions or springs.
