Question
I hope you can guide me! my float chamber cover broke where the top screw goes in.  Since I could not find a float chamber cover, I inserted the float chamber screw into what was remaining of the female end used a JB Weld to build up the float chamber and surround the screw.  I replaced the line going out of the float chamber cover to the glass fuel filter.  The problem is that no gas is getting to the float chamber now.  When I pour gas directly into the chamber, the car starts right up and runs for 10 seconds until the gas in the chamber is used up and then it quits.

Can you assist me?

Thank you so much.

Answer
I assume there is no fuel pump, so it is gravity feed.  I also assume that the top screw holds the cover in place.  If it is the fitting that holds the fuel line in place, then you must have blocked it somehow with the putty.  The float pushes up on a needle valve to shut off the fuel when the float hits the top of its travel, (floating on a full bowl of fuel.).  The needle valve could be stuck on it's seat.  Find it and make sure it is free to move up and down.  Blow through what you can to make sure the passages are clear.  Make sure your tank is vented.  Loosen the fuel cap and see if the fuel flows.  Should be simple to fix.  Just stick with it and get the fuel flowing and you will be all set.  If I can help further, let me know.
Good luck.
