Question
I've started deconstruction on a 51 Pontiac and I am having trouble with the interior handles..I thought they had the c-clips like later models but I can't seem to locate the clip with the clip removal tool..there seems to be a spring behind the handle..what kind of clip, if any, is holding the handles on the door?  Thanks.  Dan

Answer
These should be held on by the familiar "C" clips. The difference if I remember right is that the Escutcheon plate between the handle and the upholstery has a spring loaded cap that is right next to the handle. That cap needs to be depressed to get at the "C" clip. If this is not a fact let me know and I will do more research.
