Question
The transmission seems to be slipping..hence figure need to adjust the bands.  Would like to get a good reference/service manual info that discusses the adjustment, etc..or if that info is available .. is it possible to provide it? Found some info on what the torque should be on the "bolt(s)"..but need little bit more info.

thx

Answer
Hello Dennis,

Your best reference is a factory service manual. The closest I could find to your Powerglide was the 1955 manual on Oldcarmanualproject.com, an invaluable source of classic auto literature and manuals. A 1955 Powerglide should be identical to your 1957.

Look here for the info:  http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/shop/1955/index.htm

Good luck on your Classic Chevy!!
