Question
Hi brad,I AM re installing my valve covers, and would appreciate your advice-do I put some type of sealer on the new cork gaskets or put them on as is.(1956 T bird 312). tnx John

Answer
The only thing that I have ever used on these gaskets is Permatex® High Tack™ Gasket Sealant. This is applied only to the side of he gasket that contacts the valve cover and when used according to instructions keeps the gasket in -place when installing the cover. It is not recommended to use any sealant between the cylinder head surface and the cover.
