Classic/Antique Car Repair/axle code

what does the number 2 mean for axle code on a 1965 lincoln continental?

According to my information, which is factory specs there were two ratios offered for that car. Code #1 the standard ration of 2.89:1 and code #3 which is 3.11;1.I can find no listing on that car for a code #2. Send me all the codes from the data plate and I will decode it for you.
