Question
Is the number one piston on the right or left bank of a 429 cadillac deville 1964 model?

Answer
A couple of tricks for finding number one cylinder on a V type engine. Standing in front of the car look down on the engine. The valve cover that is the furthest forward is almost always number one. On most of the V type engine built in the USA at that time there was almost always a number on each intake manifold runner that numbered the cylinder as well. Number one on your Cadillac is the first cylinder on the left bank and the firing order is 1-8-7-2-6-5-4-3.
