Question
I'm purchasing an abandoned econoline tuck through a lien sale.  It's been sitting for about 20 years and no papers have been found.  I looked at the passenger door for the id number, but it was missing.  Where can I find the Serial ID number on the body?

Answer
The data plate should be attached to the drivers door. If it is not there I know of no other place on the body that you might find the numbers. However most states have a way of issuing numbers to register vehicles like this when the time comes provided that you can provide proof of purchase. However in my opinion unless the price was real right, I would walk away.
