Classic Film/Old black and white movie

Question
Hi, I am 50 and my youngest brother is now 41.
When he was a little boy about 8 years of age we
watched a black and white movie and it became our
favorite of all times. We don't recall the movie
title, or any names of the actors. It was just a
comical type movie it appeared to be in the time
of the lean people with lean sunk in faces. What
was so funny and memorable to us it was a skinny
man standing in a wooden scenery singing these
words, "Oh she's up there, and I'm way down here, so
I guess I'll have to go up in the mountains"
There is a woman with a long full dress as in the
20's possibly long sleeves and high covered neck.
her hair is wore up on top of her head. She sings
back to him, " Oh I'm up here and he's down
there, No one but us seems to remember it. They think
we are out of our minds. I thought it might have
been a ma and pa kettle money but my bother
didn't think so. He was thinking laurel and hardy, but
I don't think so. So we would really like to
find out so we can locate a copy if it is out there
to prove we haven't lost our minds. It was just
so funny and rare type, being so old. Any help at
all would be appreciated. We have been wondering
for years. It would be so fun to view it again
after all these years. I'd love to surprise him
with it. Thank You for your searching. I hope you
get lucky.

Answer
Thank you for your very sincere question. The description you have offered does not ring a bell with me, I am sorry to say. I might suggest that since you think it might be a Ma and Pa Kettle film or a Laurel and Hardy film that you go to the web site, www.imdb.com, which is a web site that lists all films made by the actors in those series that you mentioned. You can click on any title, and then review the plot descriptions and see if any of them are the particular film you recall. My best wishes to you in your search. Please let me know if you have any other questions or if I can be of further help. Sincerely, David Menefee
