Black/White: The actress is a brunette I believe, she and her twin (same person obviously)are on a boat and a storm capsizes it; the twin who lives tried to save her sister but as she was doing so the drowning twin's wedding ring came off and the surviving twin put it on her finger.  When she woke up she was in a hospital and everyone thought she was the married twin that survived so she pretended she was her sister (the husband of her married sister was this single twin's love of her life)  The dead twin was mean and bad and the single twin who took over the bad twin's life was good.   I hope this helps.

This sounds like the 1946 Bette Davis film, "A Stolen Life".

STORY OUTLINE: Kate Bosworth (Bette Davis) and her twin sister Patricia fall in love with Martha's Vineyard lighthouse inspector Bill Emerson (Glenn Ford). Patricia and Bill are married. To forget, Kate returns to painting. Bill goes to Chile; Kate and Patricia go sailing; Patricia is washed overboard and drowned. The boat capsizes and, when Kate recovers consciousness ashore, she (now believed to be Patricia) is told that Bill is returning from Chile.
