Question
I am looking for the name of a movie not sure when it was made. I am pretty sure it was a b&w movie. The plot was about a girl who marries the guys friend who is in love with her because her sister is in love with the man who loves her. I believe it had to do with a music teacher as the father. There was an aunt in the picture as well. I no this isn't alot to go on if you can help me I would appreciate it.

Thanks,
Misty

Answer
Hi Misty,

I'm pretty sure that the movie you're describing is the 1938  Warner Bros. film, "Four Daughters", starring Priscilla Lane ( and two of her actress sisters), John Garfield,  Claude Rains (the father),  and May Robson (as the aunt).  It was nominated for several Academy Awards,..and was one of the top films of the year.
( Go to:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Four_Daughters for more info.  It's available on VHS at:
www.amazon.com.

It was remade as a dramatic musical in color,...in 1954,.... (also Warner Bros), starring Doris Day and Frank Sinatra, (with Ethel Barrymore as the aunt) ....called "Young At Heart".
