Question
I am wondering the title of a movie that was filmed in Alaska. It is  european
film about a girl who wants to research the life of a man who lives in the
arctic by himself in a small cabin and see how he survives all winter. She is
matched to someone by the forest service- or something- and immediately
thinks the man in the cabin is disgusting and vile- but eventually they start
having sex and he falls in love with her very deeply and wants her to stay
when her time is up in the spring. She ends up leaving and wreaking his life-
because he was content before she arrived and now he can no longer live by
himself. I think it is from the 80's and am thinking it was a dutch film?? It
was great.

Answer
Hello Michelle,

That's a film from 1997 called "When The Light Comes" (German title: Die Stunde des Lichts / Dutch title: Waar blijft het licht).

Here's a link.....
