Question Robert.....In the late 1940's or early 1950's, a local "Our Gang" movie was made in Kingsville, Texas. It was cast with local kids I can't seem to find anyone who knows of this film, so was hoping you could help.
Answer Hi - I'm not aware of anything that specifically happened in Kingsville, but I do know of at least one similar instance. Back in the '20s, the Hal Roach studio prepared an Our Gang script especially for the purpose of a local production in Kansas City using local kids. By the late 40s/early 50s, the series had come to an end, so I'm not sure if it would have specifically been an Our Gang-related project as opposed to something that simply featured a child cast.
