Question
I saw a movie years ago about a woman that healed people. She got caught up in the politics of it and after nearly dyng several times, she went into hiding. At the end of the show she was living in the desert running a gas station when a family with a sick child stops. She convinces the parents to take a well needed walk while she stays with the child.  When they leave she asks if she can hug the child, thus healing her without their knowledge. I think it was Ellen Burstyn but can't find it. Watched it on t.v.

Answer
Hello Kathy,

Yes, it was Ellen Burstyn and it was called "Resurrection" (1980).

"Ellen Burstyn experiences the afterlife for a brief time after a car accident that kills her husband. As she begins her long process of physical healing, she discovers that she has the ability to heal physical infirmities. While most people simply accept her gift, her lover (Sam Shepard) becomes mentally unbalanced and dangerous because she does not place the healings within a religious context."
